Who We Are

Moomaw Chevrolet is located in the scenic hills and farm country of Sugarcreek in eastern Ohio's Tuscarawas Valley. Sugarcreek is the gateway to Ohio's largest Amish settlement, Swiss Cheese production, and to one of Ohio's most popular tourist areas. In fact, Sugarcreek is also known as "The Little Switzerland of Ohio."

Moomaw's, founded in 1912, is one of Ohio's pioneer full service automobile dealerships and has been in continuous operation. Known originally as S.P. Moomaw & Son, the firm sold Willy's Overland products until 1933 when the Chevrolet contract was signed by Simon's son Howard Moomaw. In 1960, Howard Jr. became the dealer operator and he ran the store until 1993 when his son Randy assumed control. Moomaw's is a four generation family owned business that has succeeded on the basis of fair and friendly dealing, honest service, and an old fashioned personal touch that, to this day, has not been compromised.

We've been at this for over 96 years. We see ourselves as a "throwback", a throwback to the good old days when a handshake and smile meant everything, to the days when you looked people square in the eye and your word was good. Of course, with all of the regulation and paperwork in the automobile business today we've had to change a few things. But, we're still proud of our heritage and old fashioned small town style built on honesty and integrity. So, if you're looking for a car dealer you can truly trust, Moomaw Chevrolet is the place.

Our greatest asset is our people. We are blessed with extremely dedicated employees some of which have been here well over 25 years. They are highly trained and experienced and have a willingness to "go the extra mile" to solve problems and satisfy the customer. We have won customer satisfaction awards over the years for consistently high rankings in this area. In the mid-90's we were recognized at the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis as one of the nations top fifteen Chevrolet dealers in customer satisfaction. The care we give to our customers is evidenced by hundreds of notes and thank you's that have been sent to us, many of them are exhibited in our showroom.
